disc bolts 72 XS2?

Hello,
Do you know if the bolts/nuts holding the front disc to it's carrier are special? Head seems very thin?
What was this idea of not permanently fixing the disc/carrier on the hub? Any other bike like this?

yes probably a special bolt maybe cut down for clearance between wheel and calipher/carrier.... as for the floating mount 72 was early in the use of disc brakes on bikes, Yamaha was big on dampening the rear sprockets ect. probably a Engineering idea that proved not to be needed
