The innards came from a 1974 TS100 speedo, has a 2:1 ratio. I like that it only goes to 80mph, so now I can use the entire speedo range
I had to shorten the speedo needle in both length and height to just fit under the glass of the can. I also removed the orange paint from the needle, and left the brass. I used a shallow nut I had from a bicycle to mount it, was the same size and thread pitch as the speedo cable, and I'm pretty sure I have plenty of thread left to attach the cable, but as of now the cable is too short to reach the back of the speedo in its current position. I more or less mounted it quickly for the photo, but it does mount nicely right to the stock bracket.
