Does this look right?

I finally got the top half separated from the bottom half of my forks and I noticed that at the bottom each sleeve they look different. My question is should they look exactly the same?

Yes, they should. there's an aluminum sleeve that fits on the bottom of the damper rod. It's probably still stuck in the bottom of the lower leg for that right fork tube. For the left one, I think that's it stuck in the bottom of the fork tube.

Yup you are right I just didn't look around enough. I do have something that I don't think is original in my forks though. Looks like the PO put in some aluminum spacers to make the springs harder. I added a picture of them to the pictures in the link above.

Yes, it looks like the P.O. added some additional preload to the stock springs with those spacers. The stock springs need it, lol. You shouldn't need those with your new springs although you'll need to read the installation instructions to see just what they recommend.

I will be reading through the instructions soon. I am excited to get the new progressive springs in and hopefully feel a big difference. Thanks again for your help!
