I have converted the disc rear on my 79 special to drum rear.

Is it possible to use the Disc brake pivot shaft as opposed to the drum.

Has anyone done this.

i have a drum brake pivot shaft, but didn't realize I needed to weld the spring mount and the stop
bolt in a different position.

thx.

Greg

Hi Greg,
fell in love with those pretty wire wheels, didja? Me too but wearied of cleaning them so my son put them on his rear disk 1980.
We chose to weld a second brake torque stay onto the bottom of the '80's swingarm to accept the drum brake's underslung
tension torque stay rather than find a drum brake swingarm. He used the drum brake pivot shaft no problem. I think he held
the rear stoplight switch spring's end with a hose clamp and ignored the stop bolt problem.
