I was just wondering, what frame number is the earliest existing survivor?
So go on then, I’ll start this off
I’ve got 001645
The reason I ask is that this bike has some early parts such as the the light switch is different to later ones (the horn push assembly isn’t held in by a bracket/screw, the throttle assembled has the screw in type throttle cables, the flasher relay bracket under the battery tray is different to later ones etc etc
Good question Ant. What year is you bike?
I got #450 (about)
seen lower here.
threaded adjuster cap on LH cover is a pretty good early tell. 2Ms SB list in photo album gives lots of info. https://www.xs650.com/media/albums/xs1-xs1b-xs2-tx650-service-data.1914/
S650000637 I didn't even get it out this year.
You should be too embarrassed to say that.
I admit.. I was think'n that very thought as I typed it in .... I was taking bikes from the basement.. ride'n them for a couple weeks.. and didn't get to the Xs1 in time...
Built date October 1969
Post #7 has an "early engine change chronology"...
304 it is then
so, I wonder how many unmolested XS1’s are there still out there?
