I have a 74-75 xs650 from what I have researched. I need new jugs and valve assembly. Are there other year I can use. If so which other years are compatible?

Yes, '74 on up will directly swap. Be aware that the cams from '80 on will not have the bushings installed for the advance rod so the easiest route would be to re-use your existing cam if possible. You can install the bushings in the later cams but it would just be simpler to re-use yours.
