I'm gearing up to tear down my 75 xs this winter to send the cam and crank to Hugh and to install 5th gear overdrive. While I'm in there ill most likely put in new gaskets and seals. Are there any tools I absolutely need to get the job done? I'm a noob and am planning on learning a lot during the process. Right now I have basic tools, mechanics set and that's about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Puller for the rotor is a must. Use anything else you run the risk of damage to the rotor.

Good 3/8 torque wrench that will work for 6-7 ft lbs for the small 6 mm screws and up to 30 ft lbs plus so you can torque the head bolts.

Borrow a 1/2 torque wrench for anything heavier like axle nuts or swing arm pivots. But most just snug these up tight by feel and that works fine too.

Get a manual.

Have fun.
