Looking for a right hand side case / cover for my ‘76 that has in integrated oil level site glass. Good idea or bad one? Would it be a direct swap with a later model cover? Thanks.

I think it's a good idea. I did it to my '78 and love it. The sight glass may not 100% agree with the dip stick but I find it close enough for my purposes. It's good enough to tell me with just a glance if the oil is getting low and needs some added.

Any '81 and newer cover will swap right on. I found the newer cover gave a bit more clearance for my aftermarket head pipes too. That "bump" on the bottom is beveled .....

5T, will the left cover from an ‘81 fit as well? Thinking about a hydraulic clutch conversion this winter Nd have an opportunity to buy left and right covers. Thx

Thx, Any idea what a pair of covers are worth in not so nice condition? Mainly dirty.

Can the oil level sight glass be replaced or resealed if needed?
