first big ride yearserday. bike still jumpoing out if first gear under heave load

Hey,
Nathan Lovern here in Va.
Went on first bike ride with friends to Sparta yeasterday. was fun but FRIGGING cold
I went up to a 36 tooth back sprocket and what a big difference i never had to downshift at all to keep up with friends on Katana and a Harley. bike fely like it was running hard but never went over 4000 to 4500 rpms.
I noticed that when i took off hard it would jump out of first then pop back like it did doubleing my wife. ive read in forun it could be a shift spring to shift fork to shift drum.
Can i just live with problem and just take off easy?
i dred the thought of tearing motor down to fix. i have a spare motor but it does same thing. :-(
Otherwise bike is great. Love it.

If it is the shift spring you will only have to drain the oil and open up the clutch side case cover.
