Greetings from buffalo! First build here! Been building minis, go carts, dirt bikes and hot rods my whole life. Never really built a street bike before and to be quite honest, never really ridden a street bike before! Love the look and style of the xs 650!!! I've built and have been deeply into hot rods my whole life, but the cost has really made that impossible lately! ( thank you barrette Jackson ! ). I even have some of my work displayed in car magazines about 18 years ago! I'm a paint and body man along with fabricator ( thanks dad! ) , not to mention having most equipment to perform such task! I'm into the bobber hard tail style, along with the original standard style! Since mine is an 81 special I will lean forwards the hard tail,style! Wanting to go with the chopper, hard tail style, I'd like to go with the slight rake, extended fork, basic stripped down version. Nothing to over the top! Old school is really what I'm after here, no powder coating, paint the frame, gas tank, etc. With automotive paint, hand polish the existing aluminum, cleaning up the original chrome spokes, building my own solo seat and having the wife stitch up the cover with an old police leather jacket that was given to me a while back! Kind of leaning forward an original light blue early 70s yamaha 100 cc color that my uncle had on his first new bike that he bought new! R.I.P. uncle wally! He is the main reason I am into motorcycles! Unfortanitly, a local sheriff took him from us a bit to soon back in 76 on said bike because the cop felt he was above the law and didn't have to obey traffic laws! ( sorry, getting carried away with my emotions!!! ), but any how, that's what I'm after here and thanks for having me on your forum! Anybody from buffalo? Looking for parts and or advice would be great! Hopeing I could maybe help ya out also!! Stay warm and thanks!
