I HAVE A 1975 XS650. I HAVE NIFTY PLANS FOR IT AND THE PLAN IS TO HAVE THE THING TOTALLY DONE BY BIKE WEEK OF THIS YEAR.

You got a real basket case there, if you need any help getting that engine rebuilt, feel free to ask. Nice lookin' front end as well...

Decided to go with the most cost effective way to make the pegs. Also i had a pair of GSXR vortex rear sets that have been sitting in that pile for about a year, and i figured they fit well and looked good. more fine tuning to come...

I also have a question, is it better to have a headlight that is stationary to the front of the frame of one that will turn that is connected to the front end weather it be on the tripples or custom made bracket? please let me know your opinion... this is the light that i want to use for the headlight... i have a few ideas but nothing that is dead set.
thanks

I've ridden bikes with the head light mounted both ways. There is not much difference in visibility. You can see as well at night with either set up.
It will look better and be an easier set up too mount the headlight on the forks.

thanks guys... i am also thinking of making a 2 into 1 intake manifold with the one carb conversion. i have read some of the forum that pertains to it and personally i think that it looks pretty good. :D

Im working with one of Wiseguys 2 into 1 intakes right now with a 38mm sportster carb. havn't gotten to run it yet but there are a few pf us on here who are running them, I agree that they look badass

I would recommend getting some way to get 2 bolts to hold your peg mounts. It will loosen and/or move with only one 10mm bolt holding it.

Yeah I plan on making a bracket and welding the peg bracket to it and then securing the additional plate with another bolt in the adjacent position

update: we have built the rear fender mount, installed risers, bars, grips and throttle tube. changed the mid control idea a little bit...waiting on one part to have them together, and also i will not be running any front brakes.. it will be an open wheel. However i will run a line from the front master to the rear caliper for what i call a rear hand brake. here is an updated pic, hope to have it running in 10 days and have her rolling down main street in daytona

Ps the welds aren't perfect, but u have to learn somehow!

Getting the hang of welding can be tough. If I were you, I'd go back and grind those out and start over. Turn the wire speed down and turn the heat up. I'm betting if you took a hammer to those welds on the fender support they'd pop right off. Having them break while you're rolling down the road won't be pretty. Find some similar material and practice your settings first.

it's not a bad thing at all I like the look.
It was not meant as an insult.

hate is a very strong word. You should lighten up.
understand that this is the internet and it is very hard to see someone's intentions through written word.

Unless they directly say I don't like ......

I'm sorry I didn't qualify my statement. I wasn't sure it needed it as it wasn't meant as an insult.
