Two questions, the first one is can this pit be polished out or is it too bad and or the hardened surface is too thin. Secondly, is it normal to have to Pul the rocker arm shaft every bit of the way until it's free... Mine didn't give up until I pulled them their entire length.

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing those faces are nitrided to harden them, in which case the hardened layer is only a few thou. thick. That looks like the nitrided layer is breached. I wouldn't trust it. Maybe others can chime in?

For $14 shipped I ordered 4 VW/Porsche units from Pelican. Important update!!!! I just received these adjusters and took a look at him. They're very poor unfortunately, the business end is poorly machine and not a smooth radius they have grooves and dimples and pimples and are unusable as far as I am concerned. I will be sending them back. I have OEM from Yamaha on the way. I guess it's still true that you get what you pay for.

For that price, I don't think so. They're probably very similar to the originals except maybe with a screwdriver slot on top for adjusting rather than the square head.

that necked area in the threads bothers me but??
Also the "flat face" that has been ground into the ball bearing leaves something to be desired on a few of them in this photo.
2many got into this subject quite deeply at one point
