Hey all.

Newbie here... Been browsing for advice for a while now but this is my first post for help.
I've Been slowly upgrading a mostly stock 79 xs650 special that I bought a couple years ago....most of the big stuff is done and now I'm on to some cosmetic changes.

My current issue is with the headlight... I got the "lucas style" headlight 09-0060 from mikesxs.com and was going to mount it with new brackets and the short stalk original style turn signals. However this headlight has an internal threading that weirdly doesn't match the turn signals ...

So I'm not sure what to do?

Should I drill out the threaded area and use washer/bolt on backside of blinker (as stock)?

Scrap blinker plan and mount elsewhere?

Just seems weird that it is so close but won't fit...

Thanks for any help!

D, You have numerous choices. If you like the stock mounting position then yes, drill out the threads and mount them as stock. Motolanna and numerous others offer mounts that attach to the lower triple tree pinch bolts. Or whip up something of your own design from aluminum bar stock. Your imagination is your friend.
