Fuel Mixture Screw?

So, I've searched the forums and read the manuals, but I can't seem to figure out where the fuel mixture screw(s) would be?
My bike is running just a little lean and I'd like to richen it up a bit. In order to do this do you have to take off the bowls or is there a mixture screw somewhere easily accessible?
I have a stock 1981 XS650H
If someone has a picture of it's location I would really appreciate it.

on the neck of the carb that goes to the intake of the head. its a small upright anthill looking thing with a plug in it, use a small drill and make a hole in plug, screw in small screw and yank plug out, then you will see the mixture screw hiding like a mushroom in the dark. Mine saw the light of day for the first time in 40 years just the other day.
