Hey guys, just finished reassembling my bike after paint, powdercoat and chrome, just filled her up with Oil and tried to cycle through the gears to discover this problem, no idea how it would of come about but Im guessing it may have something to do with the Gear shift shaft.

Any one have any similar issues and know what it is and how to fix it?

Cheers!

Did you put the clutch wormhole gear in right, with the spring and pushrod, because it only goes in one way (but you can put in in wrong, I know I did) for the spring to work properly. Yeah don't stretch that spring, that's what i did trying to get the wormhole gear in place, if its in right the spring will go on easy.

My XS1B did that long ago. The crimp/swaged fitting of shift shaft to shift arm loosened up. Realigned the shaft and shift arm, then welded them (on the outside)...
