Have a case of the carb tuning blues

That chart that I made up lists the BS34 air jet size in the notes at the bottom, not in the chart itself. I've never fooled with the air jet size but would like to. I figure it has about 1/3 the effect on the pilot circuit that a pilot jet size change has. It's a way to fine tune your idle circuit and get mix ratios in between pilot jet sizes. For instance, if a 42.5 pilot was too lean but a 45 was too rich, you could get somewhere in between the 2 by changing the air jet.
 
Well, I took apart the choke and cleaned it up, all good. I did find an air leak on the left side carb holder, gonna replace that tonight even though I don't think it will be that big of a difference. I went out and bought a timing light today but I don't know how to use it. Printed off some of the service manual so we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll post a new thread and see what kind of response is out there.
