Help for new XS owner

Hi guys,

I just got a very sorry looking 1979 XS650 (G....I think, spoked wheels, single disc). It has Z1300 (!!!) rear shocks and f**ked chrome on the stanchions.
Will rear shocks and stanchions from a 74 model fit ?

shocks yes a bit longer, fork tubes no. 77 -83 tubes are 35mm 73-76 are 34mm
