Hi Does anyone have a number for Mikes XS, I bought a few bits off their website. i bought a couple of piston kits
https://www.mikesxs.net/yamaha-xs650-256-piston-kit-2nd-os-0-50mm-70-73-oem-256-11636-02.html
Thing is its arrived here in the UK Yesterday. it came without the piston rings. I have contacted them had no response yet. I know times are tough for all of us. I am panicking a little as the cylinders are being bored out 0.5 mil for the new pistons I am going to need the rings ASAP.

Thanks

If time is a factor --as in shop time ordered ---and those things
I believe Rudiger in Kiel has the same parts at least some
of them
It is faster than over the Atlantic things getting stuck in customs and so on
and I have always gotten my parts.
Within the week and this without a rush order
Hassle free Excellent service over the years. And that is an understatement.
He is quick I don't know if he uses a telephone .Or have anything against Englishmen
But from my viewpoint I would be Surprised if he cant find a solution

Thanks 650Skull, they all appear to be 447 and 533. I need type 256, my understanding is that they are not interchangeable???? please feel free to correct me

I would raise holy hell until I got the piston rings from Mikes that I paid for. Having said that, my cruzinimage rings work great on my '81.. They were very tight against the walls, which translates to zero oil usage. The first and second rings seem to be interchangeable and there is no top or bottom to them. Not sophisticated, but it's a simple motor.

Did you pay Vat on the kit from Mikes.................

If you do get the rings from Cruzinimage, could buy the full piston set and when the mikes rings turn up flog Mikes Piston kit for a bit less and your still ahead, by 50 or so

That's an idea 650Skull. Yes I have paid the vat and import duty on the whole order. Just under £100.00 in taxes.

Never been able to get them on the phone, however the few times I have had issues they normally reply to email. I would try email again and refers to your order number etc.

Mike's does occasionally make such mistakes, as I've experienced.
But they have always responded to my emails within about 4 hours.
And they have made good on their error.
Try a followup email and make sure to be specific about your complaint.
