Clever, but I do believe in the ghost, or past impression on the present thing. I have a haunted truck. This truck was my collie's favorite ride, so much that I called it "Dixie's truck". Dixie passed about 5 years ago. This truck sat for about 7 years without driving it. About a year ago I did some work on the truck to get it drivable. Several people have told me that they have seen a collie around, or near, this truck while I was working on it. I don't doubt it, Dixie loved that truck.

I remember reading that she may have been less culpable than thought at the time. An interesting one is the carpenter, probably completely innocent, who held Booth's horse and got some years hard labor and I think eventually was pardoned (Spangler?). After he died, his complete detailed recollections about what happened was found in his toolbox. You can search for it and read it.

Here's another then and now, McKinley. In the first link 'X' marks the spot, and in the second, the same approximate spot is marked by a little memorial in the median of a highway! Looks like they razed the area and turned it into a subdivision.
