I can't believe no one has the paint code/colors for TX73.

I really need somebody's help! Someone has had to have painted a TX 73 in their own restoration project. It is a tri-coat color. If you know anyone who can help...someone who has done it please email me. I need paint codes ann paint mix.

Don't have em but I'm watching this thread I think a 73 paint is in my near future. I did some touch up on my 73 and my ancient can of Kandy Kolor blue hit the color very well.
I also have several pieces of the stock blue from different bikes and the amount of variation in color between production pieces is impressive.

I come across these. There is some info on the 73TX 650 and other TX/XS and Yamaha models.

Don't know how much help this is but shows what is involved to make up the original paint

Thanks for the info. I'll try to use some of the info at my local paint shop. My problem is the paint on the bike is so poor that the spectro meter can't pick up a match.

Thanks.

Yea, all that, but you should put the year first then the model when you state your bike. As in 73 TX.

Since you're going to paint it anyway...wet sand part of it with 1000 grit until you're down to good paint to test?
