I find that conatantly adjusting my idle is a pain, set it to 1200 warm and when starting it will bearly run to 900rpm or will stall. If i run it at 1500 rpm idle warm it will start and idle at 1200 cold, and i dont have to play with the throttle and choke, just start let idle for a few min then go.Any down side to doing this.thx

What you are describing is completely normal. There is no down side.

Automobiles/trucks with carbs, used a high speed idle position build into the carb mechanism. This increased the throttle until the engine warmed up.

Modern cars/trucks/bikes with fuel injection have the same thing done by a computer.
