Idle screw question

Alright So I got my Vm34's on my 75 XS 650 and finally got my jetting down runs great so much faster more power! I do have an idle screw issue on the left carb, when ever I unscrew the idle screw there is absolutely no change in idle, I even took it all the way out and no change. I know that the slides are in correctly everything is adjust correctly both slides lift at the same time I can't figure it out any ideas?

The slide in the left carb must be down all the way already. That's all the idle speed screw on a VM carb does, push against a ramp cut into the side of the slide and lifts or lowers it. That changes the idle speed. If your idle is too high now still, the right carb is turned up too much.

Or it's possible his cable isn't letting his sliders drop all the way down
