Have a 650 with electronic ignition, bare bones (chopper) wiring. Thing ran good for a while, then the rotor crapped out. picked up a new unit from powersprorts, after that the bike would die soon as it hit 13 volts. Would run great until then. 13.3, 13.2, 13.1, dead. Just like that. Anything above 13 would be great.

So i swapped out the ignition with another unit and the symptoms changed. bike will now stay running down to 10 volts. Runs great at idle, and revs good. But soon as you put a load on the battery (turn on a headlight) the bike will run like crap. stuttering bogging.

This happens even if i just put a load on it by jumping a light directly to the battery while its running. Voltage can be 14 volts, but it will just bog and fart soon as the battery gets a load on it. Fresh battery as well.

Any thoughts? Sounds to me like two bad ignition units, but i had one of these working great in another bike last year. Been on a shelf since then.
