Hey guys,

I'm new as of the last couple months, and this site and everyones advise has been invaluable.
I recently bustered my mechanical advance (im still running points) and has realized that this is a less than ideal ignition system. (78 stock)
Everybody raves about the pamco and e advance, but from what I gather the quality pamco is no longer being made. Its hard to build a solid timeline since these posts go back over ten or fifteen years.
Can anyone give me a rundown on the current state of ignitions? if I want to upgrade from the points what should I look at? seems like there is a lot of garbage out there.
Thanks

I've had good luck with Boyer. It has e-advance. Not dirt cheap but not real expensive, I've bought them on E-Bay for $225. It's a complete kit. Only thing it lacks is red locktight.
If you have the time read this. For $100 or less you can build one.

I'm sure others will be along with their thoughts on other options.

Later in the TCI replacement thread it's explained on how to install on a points bike.
