Im new also....

Been into bikes for many years and recently got out of the sports thing and bought a VN900.
Now Ive kicked things down a notch and had a look around I want to home build me a chop and see that the XS650 is the dogs danglies for such a thing.
Im looking for advice on buying one as Im keeping my eyes peeled for a bargain, what year, what to look for etc.
I'll keep reading around here and no doubt I'll come across such a thread in time.

You picked the right place to lurk...Welcome! XS's are all good! My biased opinion is that pre-TCI ignition bikes with 38's are the real McCoy..!

Welcome to the forum...If I had my druthers I would look for as late a model as you can find, that way you`ll be long gone before you realized what a mistake you made by chopping up a classic.
I have bad memories of what I did to classic bikes that are worth big money today.
