I have two headlight shells pictured that have a hole for a hi beam indicator. My red '75 does not have this hole. I am I guessing correctly that the blue shell is from a TX650 and the root beer colour is from a '74?

yes a 73 the other has some metallic? red peaking out, a 72 maybe. The 74 didn't have the hole, it's like the later bikes, only changes in color or chromed 74 on. So there are two headlight bucket styles 70-73 and 74 -83

They have a part # stamped on them. headlight and rim are 70-73 items also.

Thank you sir, I must have been having a senior moment, did not even think about P/N and there it is YHA-112; SAEM69 for each one and there is metallic red under the root beer colour which makes it a '72. Good to know the cut off date for the indicator hole.
Gotta love those boxes of parts people need to get rid of!
