is this normal

is this hump in the back done normal,have been told both ways (yes and no) have seen it on other 81 xs650 frames, try'n to figure out if i need to pull it back into spec or if it's ok ot do I need a new frame ( it's looks to have a hump just above the rear of the coil)

Normal or not. It should be ok and you can't see it with the tank on. The top motor mount fits. I won't vouch for the hard tail. If it goes down the road straight is what matters most of all.

Can't say either way, all I can say is I have an 81 and mine isn't like that. What pipes are those?
