I spent a little time this morning cleaning up the head some more with Kerosene, it’s markedly improved in appearance, I thought it might hopefully save the vapour honing guys a little time and thus my dollar.
I attempted to clean up the exhaust ports with paint stripper but I only had leftovers to hand and to be honest it didn’t do a great deal. Am I right I’m assuming vapour/soda blasting will remove the carbon buildup?
I also rounded the edges of the guides like you suggested.

Soda blasting is the quickest and cleanest way of removing carbon buildup or use a acid cleaning chemical .
