Jim's 1980 SG Miss September

I found another listing for them on eBay with a nice close-up pic, and they are the ARS brand. You should be good to go with them.

More Bling....
Removed 40 yrs of yellowed lacquer and corrosion, polished, and painted in the details.

Did you order new brass ones or are you making the switch to plastic? This is another one of those parts that are quite a bit cheaper from Suzuki. Yamaha asks a pretty penny for either type .....

The brass .....

The plastic .....

Suzuki's prices are much more reasonable, you can get the pair for about the cost of one from Yamaha .....

So the brass Suzuki ones are identical to the Yamaha ones?

Yes, that I can vouch for. My buddy ordered a pair for his 1980 carbs. I haven't tried the plastic ones yet but as near as I can tell they should match the Yamaha plastic ones as well. It's more difficult now to compare this stuff since they stopped putting actual parts photos on the site. But I did get some while they still did. Going by these, I was confident enough they were the same to recommend my buddy try them. As you can see, size and shape are the same, everything's the same (brackets, tabs, bracket extrusions), they're the same float .....

Beautiful work, Jim! Just to confirm, Tour Max is not a manufacturer, it's a house brand label used by K&L Distributing. Tour Max carb boots are made by ARS, the original equipment manufacturer used by Yamaha. Tour Max boots can be ordered through any shop with a K&L catalogue (that's most of 'em). Their seal kits are also made by ARS (also OEM for Yamaha).

Great research job on the carb parts, 5twins! Lately I've been buying jets and other carb parts from Niche Cycle. They offer a choice, clearly labeled, between genuine Mikuni and knockoff brass, and their price for the real thing is what others are charging for Brand X Chiwanese crap.
