“The Mountains are calling and I must go.”

I’ve been itching to get out to the mountains, away from people and traffic , out to the open spaces that I love. Forty miles one way to get there , just for twenty miles of twisty roller coaster fun. The photos don’t show it, but this road was a little dicey today. These mountains were hit hard with wildfires this summer and recent heavy rains had flooded the road and washed sand and dirt and rocks across the roadway in a number of spots. It would’ve been very easy to hit a patch of sand coming around a corner and down you go!

Ok, I’ve had my little adventure for the day. Time to get back on Old Blackie and head another forty miles back to the barn. My rides may be small in scope but they make me happy none the less.

Lakeview and I just “finished” touring the Barber Museum and all I can say is....HOLY COW! “Finished” in quotes because a second or third day is warranted.

If you like motorcycles, you gotta see this place. More later, but WOW.

Oh yes, and the swap meet was terrific too!

Not sure if bikes other than XS650's are appropriate in this thread, but...
I worked on everything I didn't want to work on this last weekend (truck stuff). My treat to myself was to have a blast on my feisty Italian. Sunday nights are great for lighter traffic which makes for more room for shenanigans :D

B-O-B,

WTF was that car??

It paled into insignificance in the presence or Old Blackie.

beautiful place Bob. I can see why you enjoy riding out there ...away from everything and everyone .

Like you, I :)have some favourite rides ,some go back to the early 70s to my first bike a 58 T6 Triumph Thunderbird. I could ride miles back then and not see another vehicle on the road ....imagine that !

Haha! You know, at first I thought it was a real old collectors car. But close inspection makes me think it’s just a kit car of some sort. There were no identifying badges at all.

my first bike a 58 T6 Triumph Thunderbird.

Oooh, I always wanted one of those. The price is too steep now for a decent one.
