Guess I'm stupid I like the stock special tanks, but what's "custom" about that?

If I'm not mistateken that's just a older standard sporty tank, r80rt.
I have a '68 sporty on mine, same mounts, could be wrong. I think the kings are longer.
Mine rubs the backbone if I force it down, so it's mounted frisco

No angus67, this isn't a standard sportster tank. It's is an aftermarket 3.1 gallon King sportster, it's 2" wider than a standard Sportster tank. We used these 30 years ago, before Harley wised up and started building a bigger tank for the sporty. This one doesn't touch the back bone, I like the high tunnel and mounted it as low as on the frame as possible.

Angus is right, the real king sporty tanks are longer...I have a few of them, and a few of the shorter ones. The fifth picture down that carbon posted is a king sportster tank, notice how much longer it is. The mounts are different too. I would suggest the tanks in the other pictures, or the one R80rt posted, they fit on these frames really well

Here's my lil slut.

Well, it really looks like it belongs on a 1941 DKW RT125. After WWII Harley got the DKW plans from Germany as war reparations, that's where the Harley Hummer came from, and the tank design.
