Have the nurse video the surgery and post it up here. We'll critique your surgeons skills....
Now that could be good for a laugh!
She might be busy with “other” duties...
Hope all goes well.
All the best from Down Under Bob, get well soon.
Falling under the , “It seemed like a good idea at the time.” catagory.

And ME.......declaring that I was taking a break from my build because I just came from the Dr.s office and I was having a bad day. Too many doctor visits and too much time spent by me , online and imagining worst case scenarios for myself. BOO HOO! I let all this stuff get in my head. I’m done moping around, life is too short. So, sorry for the mis direction guys. I know I still have some medical crap to do, but I’m gonna be back in my shop and doing what I can, when I can. Honestly, doing stuff in my shop always made me feel a damn sight better than doctors do.
Atta boy!!!!!! I'm 15 years past my expiration date and doctors can't take much credit for that. 15 years past and I'm getting three bikes ready for the season and hopefully four.
Go for it, Bob! A great line from the movie "Yellowbeard" (a 'Monty Python' movie) by the protagonist: "...You won't catch me dying all over the place... you'll have to kill me before I die!".
So, don't take no s#!+ from nobody! (I once had a creative writing teacher, who absolutely freaked at a similar use of a triple negative!) [ : > )
Fuck yea Bob! Sometimes being in the garage to focus your energy is just what the doctor ordered. Do what you can. Hearing that beautiful scooter roar to life will make you feel better than any medicine a doctor can offer!!!!
Missed it, so I got NO idea what's going on. (Familiar territory for me...)
Anyhow, Positive Waves and Best Thoughts from East Overshoe, Bob.
Now You're talkin !
When that engine kicks up, You'll feel 21 !
Thanks guys! I appreciate it.
Oh and D.E. , You didn’t miss much , just my whining. It’s in the health thread.
A lot of people pulling for you, Bob. You got this. At this point the bike is as good of medicine as any. We all share in the benefits of watching your museum quality restoration near completion. Best wishes....and prayers.
Thanks buddy! I appreciate it.
Ha! You know I’m a Churchill fan! And truer words were never spoken!
Haha! Right on brother!
You know sometimes you spend your life waiting for the perfect moment to come around and in the end, all you’ve done is spend your life waiting.
So, this morning I went out and pulled the gas tank off of my ‘77 , and put it on my XS2 and hooked up my fuel lines.
I kicked it over a bunch of times , with the key off, just to get some oil moving , then I started my video and that’s what you’re seeing, the bike started the VERY FIRST KICK!!!
It doesn’t idle for shit, and it smells really rich. There’s a lot of un burned gas fumes in the garage right now.
I started it again and put the timing light on there just to verify the timing, it took just a small adjustment.
I haven’t done anything else yet. I need to try adjusting the carbs so it will idle.
I tried removing the foam filters, in case they were too restrictive, but it is still too rich.
I need to check that it is charging, and on and on. But what the hell.....IT STARTED AND RUNS!!!
That's awesome buddy!!!
Don't you dare put that dented white tank back on the 77....
Haha! Thanks buddy! I’m sitting here going over the carb guide right now, trying to figure out why it’s sputtering and won’t idle and why the exhaust smells sooo rich. I rechecked the air screw adjustments and they are right at 3/4 turn backed out from bottom.
