mixture screw, screwed

anyone have any ideas or tricks to removing a mixture screw that has the top of it trashed?

I had the same problem. Mine came out with a left handed drill bit.

Cut the tower off(its pointless once you remove the caps), then cut a new slot into the adjuster. not pretty but it worked for me. here are pics

drill it, left handed screw, i was sweatin' the whole time making sure i didnt mess the threads up. i need a drill press.

I've done this probably half a dozen times rebuilding carbs for people and myself, and I've never had a problem. Pick up a easy out set with a small easy out. I have the black and decker set (they don't make the best stuff but these seem to work). Drill a hole about 3/16" deep into the top center of the screw. Insert the easy out and whack it good with a hammer to seat it. Then let it do it's magic. Also, be sure to soak everything with penetrating oil.
