I’m not sure how long this is going to last. I’ve always said my bike would make a nice little paint shaker. This is my top case rattling at idle. I know that the further you get from the engine the effect of the vibration tends to amplify.
This case rattle is very noticeable while riding.

Yep, that's pretty bad, lol, it may not hold up. I use a soft bag, been on there 12 years now but the sun has about done it in after all that time. I like it so much and it works/fits so well, I found a N.O.S. one on eBay to replace it .....

You don’t want to bruise the gin!

Does 'Smirnoff' make gin? Perhaps it's a vodka Martini? Can you "bruise" vodka? (or gin for that matter...) :umm:

From experience note how mama yama does things, you cannot win by increasing rigidity, go with the flow and devise mounts that flex. or like 5T go soft. :wink2:

Yeah , I’ll probably go back to a soft tail pack. As John Wayne once said.

Mine is actually a strap type tank bag but the dimensions worked out perfectly for it to be a perfect fit on my luggage rack.

All right, plan B. I just ordered a Rapid Transit Platoon expandable tail bag from eBay. $60 and free shipping.
Robin had one on his bike and I know he really liked it. I also know from him that it will fit my rack perfectly because we had the exact same rack. It’ll be lower profile than my plastic box and rattle BeGone! Here’s a photo of it on Robins bike. I also included a photo of matching soft saddlebags that are available for the traveling guy ( Gary ) ;)

Amazon does carry it. It’s available from a wide variety of sources, watch the price and shipping costs though. I found that bag anywhere from $58 to $87 and free shipping to $15 shipping. eBay was cheapest at $59 and free shipping.

Now THAT is funny (errrr....maybe not if you are a dog....)!

FWIW - I’ve got exactly that same Rapid Transit tailbag and it is a good item that fits Lucille’s rack (NO snotty comments boys) quite nicely.
