I dont do build threads, I just get in and work.
Bike started out as a stock 1979 XS650, that I traded for a beat down snowmobile with a blown head gasket.
After deciding to hardtail it I went with TC Bros, I will build my next one with a good friend looking over my shoulder.
Engine is stock for now. Rephased 750 is in the works right now. Just waiting on some parts from the machine shop. Rephased parts came from Hugh of corse.
Starting at the front I shaved the lowers and polished. Wheels are stock with spokes and hubs painted black. Dirt bike handelbars that are trimmed down a little. new controls from ebay. Stock headlight.
Tank is off of a 1975 CZ Jawa. Ribbed back, emblem is rolled into the side. I picked the tank because the emblem is bad ass and it sits low on the frame.
Seat is a swap meet find brand new Le Pera that was 25 bucks with the springs.
Foot pegs are bear trap bmx peddle using the factory exhaust mount. Bryan, thank you for helping me there.
Rear fender is a sportster front fender from vtwin manufacturing. Its exactly the same size as the tire.
License plate mount is custom made along with the sissy bar. Headlight is a Duplamp with glass lens.
Electrical system is a custom harness that I built off of Pamcoe Petes harness that included his ignition and the PMA from Hugh.
The awesome paint is all from the hands and mind of John Dills from Dills Paintworks. One of the best around. He paints for the Wheels Thru Time Museum and he has done a shit load of bikes in a shitload of magazines!!
I owe a lot of people a lot of thanks. This project was a learning curve for me. Hugh, I owe you a huge thanks. From half a country away you gave me a lot of advice, and occasionally we talked about motorcycles. All my local friends in Des Moines, we drank a crap load of beers, but i enjoyed them all. Thank you.
