Over the weekend I picked up a little basket case mid 60's Honda 50 (C110) at a swapmeet/show. The mystery of this little bike is the color, Its yellow all the info i can find say they only produced red, black, white and blue. this bike seems to be factory yellow as there is no other color under the yellow, inside the frame is yellow. woundering if anyone here has info on any Honda C110's painted yellow. I couldn't resist this little bike cause of the price, $80 and it seems it only has 72.5 original miles.

Maybe it was for a special use. Like police escort somewhere.. Just a thought...

No guess on the color except maybe it was once sandblasted clean and repainted...
First bike I ever owned was a early/mid 60's Honda 50. 20 bucks in 1968 and it came in multiple cardboard boxes... I learned how to be a mechanic on that bike. I got an ear to ear grin lookin at your pics. If you ever want to part with it.....
BTW... mine was red.
EDIT: Your plastic bits (sidecovers, headlight housing, front fender and such) are black. My guess is that was the original color.

The inside of the frame is the same color yellow even in the hard to get to corners and no sign of a different color. I 100% believe this came from the factory Yellow.

The only yellow ones I remember was the trail 90. But I owned a Honda Dealership and Honda did make some special dealer bikes for show room display. We had a green dream for a while and one of me and my partners bike is in a motorcycle collection in Cally. and it was a dealer only bike . Café 305 with 6 speed trans. So you may have something there if inside of frame is same color too. Here I found one says its a 50/110

The first pic there is a C111 or C115, they came in yellow. The inside of the frame is yellow, I taked to a guy who restores old Honda's and he restored a C110 in this shade of yellow a few years ago. He could not find a Honda Paint code for it, had to have it color matched.

I have found out from the man i bought this bike from it came from the property of a former Honda dealer. DaddyG I believe you have solved this mystery. Buttercup is most likley a dealer only unit.

Yes I have the engine and all the parts to put her back together.
I'll give ya a heads up... these little motors were notorious for cam gear failures not long after they're over-reved. Don't ask me how I know...
I went through 3 of em before I accepted the fact that I couldn't keep up with my buddies C-90;)
