If the handle of a large farm tool or impliment had a knob on the end of it, this could be the hanger for it.

Ok I got it... it obviously a reverse pulsating wobble joint...
Is it a slide stop? Pop the forked end up over center and it protrudes upward causing whatever is placed on top to be secured ie hay bale, lumber, cargo etc.
Too much saving on parts...
Would have been used in lots of places where heavy loads are encountered. I'll spill the beans tonight if no one gets it before, yamadruid got SO close earlier.
