Can i rehook it? Or will the extra tension mess it up? If so, does anyone have one? Where can i get one?
I told the buyer it was ready, im just detailing it till he buys it

That spring is part of the retaining / detent mechanism for the selector drum. I don't think if you rehook it the extra tension will cause a problem.

Have you found the broken of end of the spring?

I would try and find a replacement new spring in preference to reusing the one you have.
You should be able to get a spring of a similar diameter and wire weight at a engineering supply company.

Could this be why it sometimes pops out of gear?
I didn’t find the other end.
Could a simular spring from a hard ware store work? I assume so

I did the right thing. Baught a new one from mikesxs, and a few other doo-dads. Should be here in a week
