Starting the re-wire on my 1979 xs650. Under the battery tray were a few components which I think I have identified but need some verification. The attached photo shows a black box with rounded edges and 4 wires (black, yellow, green, red). I believe that is the regulator however the 4 wires do not seem to match any diagram I can find of a regulator with 4 wires. The other two small black squares, each with four male tabs seem to be the rectifier(s). Before un-wiring 3 of the white wires from the alternator connected to them. Questions is if I am correct, can I replace these two items with a combination rectifier/regulator and if so which one is recommended.
Additionally i have loosing total power while riding. A fuse coming off the positive lead from the battery is blowing. Would either of these components, if bad contribute to this problem? Help a brother out, need to get back on the road.
