Have a 74 xs frame with a 71 xs 650 motor, want to do a big bore 750 kit but every kit says 74-84. Has anyone done this on a 71 motor? How different r the 71s from new yrs. Is it a waste of time doing this on a 71?

Yes time and money. Get a newer motor for the conversion.

And no, you are not wasting your time. The 71 motor actually has loner connecting rods and a more agressive cam than the later 447 motors.
