Hey guys, my very first motorbike, a 1973 tx650, was feeling brave so decided to rebuild the carbs. Wish I didn't in hindsight but here I am. Have had them out 15 times in the last week trying to sort this and finally got the bike running nicely.

My only question is, the o ring on the needle jet in the LHS carb was damaged during the process and I haven't yet replaced it. I managed to get it back on but I highly doubt it's completely sealed. Will this just make for a slightly richer mixture and not a major issue? Or should I replace this o ring as a major priority and keep the bike off the road?

That side will run extremely rich to the point of not running. If it still is running, it will only get worse.

Thanks, I'm having a lot of trouble finding a 1mmx4mm o ring over Christmas here in Australia. No one has any, I've managed to find a 2mmx4mm o ring, I wonder if this would work if I worked it in "wet" with a lubricant?

The 1 x 4 is a pretty snug fit. I doubt you'll get a 2 in there.
