Is there a special terminal for the neutral wire where attaches to the detent spring on the engine? I popped mine off to take a look and it seems like it was just bare wire wrapped around the detent.
Yes there is, and hard to explain, two pronged terminal......bastard of a thing to get on. Someone might have a picture, I'll have a look in the parts manual
That's what I have, the terminal end is forked, you push the spring and washer down and slide the fork over the post then let the spring go....bastard of a thing, but it once it on it stays on...
Timely thread for me. I just had my wire pull out of the sender while I was re-routing the wiring. Mine seems to be the bare wire and spring type. I'll figure it out when I get the crud cleaned off.......and put my glasses on.
