well after putting it on Craigslist briefly i got alot of interesting trade offers and a few people with cash so after i cleaned the garage and dug all the parts back out i couldnt do it but it gave me a little motivation to tinker with it again, i remade front engine mount because the original one i made looked like a hack job and now "$#%*!" the exhaust didnt fit so im have to decide if i want to cut the engine mount off which is pretty heavily welded on or modify the exhaust pipe! things like this is what can easily break my motivation. I also finally finished my brass foot pegs i machined along time ago and ordered my vm36 carb so i can finish my 2into1 intake.

i dont have very specific details, i kind of show what i did to it in the begining of this thread, and the plan keeps changing as i went along. if you have any specific questions ill do my best to answer, but i can to you this, dont weld new front motor mounts with out your custom exhaust on lol.

you have just cut it and turn it and re-weld to the single tube?

did you used some plug i mean insert in the button rail?

Yes I cut the bottom frame and turned in each side. I machined a slug and put it I'm the frame and plug welded it. I added the front gussets as for strength to the down tube and I think they look cool.I actually Went with the single tube because I wasn't having any luck getting the original down tubes to look good matching up to the extended and raked neck

well since i apparently like redoing everything multiple times i decided i wasn't happy with the old frame gusset i had made before so i cut it off and made a new one. if i keep changing everything maybe it will even end a cafe racer by the time i finally finish lol.

i finished up the intake 2 into 1 manifold today and theres not leg for any type of filter i can think of. the carb throat is touching the back of my knee. maybe is i just put a piece of fabric over it maybe like a tshirt scrap or something, would that be enough to keep dust out and let in enough air?

i need help figuring what kind of throttle cable to buy that will fit this carb, i see some on ebay that fit vm36 but they say there only 28" long and that a bit short. most cables i can find online a like a double cable and really cant the single cable i need

sounds expensive.... what can i expect on price? im on a tight budget

I wouldn't expect it to be more than $50 or so...it all depends on the throttle for the ends and the length.

after some google searching i see alot of guys do a vm36 swap on yamaha xt500 and sr500 and use this motion pro cable but i cant find the length of it anywhere.
