Noise from bottom end! HELP!!

I've got a weird grinding/whining noise coming from the clutch side case. It is coming from around the kick arm. I used a screw drive to isolate the noise and thats how I found the location. Neither me or a friend has any idea what it could be. We've replaced the clutch basket before we isolated the noise to no avail. Could it be something do to win he kick start gears or something?
If anyone has any idea please post up! As always much appreciated.

Possibly crank bearings. Any chance of a YouTube or like video of the noise?

Could it be the starter bendix gear return spring. Mine got stucked together with the bendix gear engaged. It didn't sprung back after starting the engine. Horrible noise...
