I couldn't find an XS650 locally to build so I'mm build my gentleme's Express from a first generation Virago XV920. Here's a before and a pic of my progress so far. Mounting the XS750 tank was a herculeon task. Needs seat redone and the fuel tank painted - good to go another weekend and finito!

what kind of work was it to get that tank on there?

First I had to relocate the CDI box drom the top of the frame to the side. I had to cut out the rubber bumper pockets and heat and beat the inside front of tank to clear the wide frame. Then heat and beat the bottom of the tank to flatten a bulge at the rear. I then welded tabs at all 4 corners of the tand and a center hoop for the tank to rest on to get it level. Drilled and tapped the frame. and mounted it.

Worth the effort, but a challenge.
