Hey guys so i just got a 1974 xs650 with 12xxx miles on our. When i got it i did an oil change, spark plugs, air filters and just some normal maintenance. After everything it was running pretty good (carbs still need to be cleaned) for about 10 hours and then it decided not to accelerate. The left exhaust doesn't heat up, left cylinder won't fire and the left spark plug has oil on it. I was planning on buying a pamco ignition for it. My guess is its a combination of a few things being ignition, dirty carbs and maybe a valve seal. What do you guys think??

Do a compression check and try to figure out where the oil is coming from. If your plug is oil fouled, as much as I like my Pamco, it will not do you any good to change your ignition. You have to figure out where the oil is coming from before an ignition swap in order to get the most out of the ignition swap.
