Picked up this 01 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic last saturday. Have to say I like the big twin. It has a Thunder MFG big bore kit, larger valves, 11-1 compression, upgraded injectors, Dyna Jet power comander and Double D exhaust sytem. 12,000 original miles.
Excellent! Does this high compression mean you need to run high octane, or does the electronic management system auto adjust the timing. I forgot, is this significantly smoother compared to an XS?
Congratulations @CBJamie, that's a good ride. I buddies who have rode the Vulcan 1500 well into 100K mile range with little to no worries. And your's the fastest color too.

Yes i have to run 93 octane because of the high compression. This bike is very smooth running for a v twin. I got on the XS yseterday and it felt like riding a toy compared to the Vulcan. But I still like my XS
