Hello. New to the forum. New XS650 owner. I just bought a 1982 model. The carbs were a mess. The problem I am having is in removing the main jets and finding the pilot jet plugs. I am sure I will need to make the plugs myself. Any suggestions?
Main jets are usually the easiest ones to get out on BS34s. Pilot jets and idle jets are usually the worst because they sit deep in THREADED tubes. the emulsion tube can be stuck pretty good but a driver bit with the flat end on the head of the emulsion tube makes a good drift to tap them out. Watch that you keep your drift away from the pin that locates the emulsion tube, a little PB blaster doesn't hurt either. Yes Mikes and fleabay both have the rubber plugs.
