I have a 1975 xs650b and am in the process of getting the timing right- Looking at the manual it says "the mark on the rotor_should line up with the stationary "f" timing mark". My question is; Which "F" mark? The one closest to the TOP DEAD CENTER mark or the one closest to the ADVANCED mark? Sorry dumb questions. Thanks as always for all the help.

The timing mark at idle is just a range..................anywhere in that tiny range will work fine, but many like to set it at the TDC side. The important thing is to make sure that the timing does not exceed the "Full" mark when you rev to 3500 rpm. If you exceed the "Full" mark, you risk putting a hole in the pistons.

Thanks for the speedy answer- That's exactly the info I needed- Back out to the garage-
