I am trying to find a rear fender to use on my bobber project so I don't die riding fenderless. While I love the look of the naked rear tire, I think it might not be worth the risk if something goes wrong.

I have read that some people have used modified front fenders in the rear, but I am looking for other options as well.

My first thought was a TC bros flat fender (link below), but I would prefer the curve of the fender to follow the tire a bit more as opposed to being flat across the top.

I just stumbled onto this on ebay. A little pricey, but I like the look and it seems like it might fit a 130/90-16 tire pretty well. Anyone ever heard of this company or purchased their fenders?

Any other suggestions or parts offers would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, MadeThat! That's a pretty snotty lookin' chop you've got there! And, yes, death by rear tire would be an awful way to go! :yikes:
7 Metal West has fenders for almost every need, but they're a lot more spendy than the ones Panic Cycles are offering on eBay. Kinda makes them look like a bargain, if they anywhere near the same quality... You'll still need struts (from the axle plates to the fender) and probably an attachment point on that cross tube, just behind your seat spring, or down behind the battery (if you take the fender down that far). Update us when you decide!

Something to keep in mind...….Chain adjustment. Like if you were to mount a fender real tight to the tire, moving the rear tire forward and back changes the distance of the fender to the tire.

I'm going to be mounting a full, flat, TC Bros fender soon on a hardtail. That flat fender could have been shaped for more movement of the wheel when adjusting the chain. I may be altering things when I finally get a new chain and smaller rear sprocket. Chain tensioners will not be on my list.

So I decided to take a chance on the Panic Cycles fender, and I am glad I did because the fit is exactly what I was looking for. The radius of the fender matches the 130/90-16 stock tire really well.

The finish work on the fender is not perfect. There are a couple spots on the edges that need to be smoothed and the "finished edge" that is turned under could be better, but overall for $100 shipped I am pretty happy with it.

I think I am going to leave it full length (or almost full) and mount the bottom end down low by the battery.

Is it possible to NOT use fender struts if I add a mount to the center of the fender behind the seat as well? If not, I may go with a sissy bar instead of struts...

I love the look without the fender, but I understand your concern..How about a short modified sissy bar?
